This is the fifth of seven audience cuts of Kiin Labs' LinkedIn Ads Benchmarks 2026: what advertisers pay when the campaign's targeting includes the Sales or Business Development job function. Sales is the biggest audience on LinkedIn by member count and the most active, which shows up here as the cheapest click of any function. Every number is the median advertiser account, not a pooled total; ranges are the 25th to 75th percentile, so half of accounts sit inside them; pounds are at $1 = £0.79. The whole-panel comparison is LinkedIn Ads Benchmarks 2026 and the series hub is benchmarks by audience.

Against the whole 944-account panel (CPM $36.23, landing page CTR 0.23%, cost per landing page click $17.54), sales audiences cost 7% less per impression, click through 19% more often, and cost 16% less per visit. Total CTR is 0.83% because salespeople react and comment; the landing page rate, 0.27%, is the honest one and it is still the best in the series after C-suite.

6.8% completion at the median (2.5% to 16.7%) and $224 a lead, with document ads at 18.0% completion and $202, and single image, video or carousel at 4.3% and $250. Sales audiences convert on templates, scripts and benchmarks and are the function most likely to book a demo from the inbox; the message ad numbers are in the conversation ads study, where sales-targeted campaigns sit near the cheapest per lead. By seniority targeted
| Seniority filter | Accounts | CPM | Landing page CTR | Cost per landing page click | Form completion | Cost per lead (accounts) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| No seniority filter | 95 | $33.83 | 0.261% | $16.42 | 4.9% | $133 (23) |
| Includes manager and above | 174 | $32.24 | 0.270% | $14.04 | 6.2% | $319 (64) |
| Director and above only | 85 | $43.63 | 0.289% | $15.37 | 10.0% | $142 (35) |

Sales is the function where filtering up pays: director-and-above only costs $43.63 CPM (35% more than manager-plus) but produces a $142 lead at 10.0% completion, against $319 at 6.2% for manager-plus. Sales directors and VPs download the benchmark and book the call; SDRs and AEs click and never buy. No seniority filter gives a $133 lead at 4.9% completion, which is a cheap lead list full of reps. Filter up for anything with a form.
By company size targeted
| Company size band in the targeting | Accounts | CPM | Landing page CTR | Cost per landing page click | Form completion | Cost per lead (accounts) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Includes 1 to 200 employees | 120 | $33.03 | 0.289% | $12.89 | 7.4% | $137 (44) |
| Includes 201 to 5,000 | 126 | $28.99 | 0.281% | $12.28 | 6.5% | $265 (53) |
| Includes 5,001+ | 83 | $28.69 | 0.274% | $12.28 | 6.7% | $340 (31) |
| No company size filter | 188 | $40.39 | 0.278% | $17.75 | 8.0% | $210 (62) |
⬇ Download this table as CSV · By company size targeted
Size filters move the click more than the lead for sales audiences: SMB, mid-market and enterprise all land at $12 to $13 per landing page click against $17.75 with no filter. Leads run $137 for SMB-only, $265 mid-market, $340 enterprise, and $210 with no filter. The enterprise sales lead is dear because it is a demo ask to a VP; the SMB lead is a founder-seller downloading a script.
UK and US
| Country targeted | Accounts | CPM | Landing page CTR | Cost per landing page click | Form completion | Cost per lead (accounts) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | 68 | $42.64 | 0.281% | $17.78 | 4.9% | $264 (26) |
| United States | 114 | $55.15 | 0.302% | $23.56 | 6.5% | $321 (37) |

The US costs 29% more per impression than the UK for sales audiences ($55 against $43), 33% more per visit ($23.56 against $17.78) and 22% more per lead ($321 against $264). Landing page CTR is slightly higher in the US (0.30% against 0.28%). The gap is the smallest of any function in the series; sales audiences are large in both markets. The UK cost page in pounds is here; the global cost page is how much do LinkedIn ads cost.
Who actually sees the ads
LinkedIn's demographic report shows where the impressions went, whatever the targeting said. Pooled across the cut's campaigns, with the within-campaign index (100 = that campaign's average) for the cost and click rate of each segment:

Directors take the biggest share of sales impressions at a $75 pooled CPM, senior ICs the second at $41. Owner and CXO impressions cost 17% more than the campaign average and click a little better; entry-level impressions click through to landing pages at 1.2 times the campaign rate, which is SDRs. On company size, 10,001-plus employees is the biggest slice and the best landing page CTR (0.41%), while 2-to-10 and 11-to-50-person companies cost 9 to 12% above the campaign average and click through at a fifth of the rate: solo consultants and micro-agencies with 'sales' in the title. Exclude under 11 employees unless you sell to them.
Audience size and frequency
The median campaign in this cut runs to 44,000 members (middle half 11,000 to 180,000). Within a campaign, as cumulative impressions pass through the audience:
| Cumulative frequency (impressions ÷ audience) | Campaign-months | CPM index | Total CTR index | Landing page CTR index |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.25 to 0.5× | 1091 | 98 | 97 | 98 |
| 0.5 to 1× | 893 | 96 | 94 | 98 |

Sales audiences fatigue at an average pace: click rate down 6% after one pass, 8% by three passes, 14% after five, with CPM easing 2 to 5%. The median campaign runs to 44,000 members. Refresh creative every three weeks; sales audiences respond to new hooks faster than any other function and punish stale ones. The reasoning is in LinkedIn ad frequency and fatigue.
How Kiin targets sales teams
- Filter up. Sales function, director and above, one country, 51-plus employees: 30,000 to 80,000 members. The $142 lead in this cut comes from that filter, and the $319 lead from leaving managers in.
- Titles for the demo: VP Sales, CRO, Head of Sales, Sales Director, Head of Revenue Operations, Head of Sales Enablement, at 10,000 to 30,000 members.
- Exclude reps and sellers-to-sellers: entry and senior IC seniority on any campaign with a form, sales training and consulting companies, staffing agencies, and companies under 11 people.
- Document ads for scripts, templates and benchmarks (18.0% completion, $202 a lead), message ads for the demo (sales leaders book from the inbox more than any other function), single image on website visits for traffic at the cheapest click in the series.
- Companies tab to the outbound sequence weekly. Sales leaders who engaged with a benchmark report reply to a message that quotes it; this is the audience where the Warmbound loop closes fastest.
- Three-week creative refresh and a new hook rather than a new image; sales audiences read the first line.
Who this is for
Companies selling to sales, revenue and business development teams: sales engagement and outreach, CRM and revenue operations tools, conversation intelligence, sales enablement and training, data and intent providers, lead generation and outsourced SDR services, commission and comp software, and agencies whose buyer is the VP of Sales or CRO.
Method and citation
Campaigns whose job-function targeting includes Sales or Business Development, with delivery between 8 September 2025 and 7 September 2026, at least $50 of spend and 2,000 impressions, LinkedIn Audience Network campaigns excluded, 14 currencies converted to USD at September 2026 rates: 2,213 campaigns, 338 advertiser accounts, $5,460,999. Feed metrics are the median advertiser account across single image, video, carousel, document and event formats on every objective except lead generation; lead gen form metrics are the median account on the lead generation objective. No cell with fewer than seven accounts is shown.
